New Music Wednesday: First Post

So recently I’ve been loving doing my #MusicMondays which has been mainly picking songs from the past that I remember and then looking into and reviewing the album it came from, which I really enjoy doing and will continue to do every Monday. However, I also want to explore and find new music out there right now, as there are so many awesome new songs yet to be heard.

Since there’s so much great new music out there to discover, means they aren’t always as easy to find, believe it or not. So please bare with me as I unearth the best ways and sources to find great new music to share, for you to listen to as well as figuring out the best way to format this segment of my blog for you.

This week, to start off I have found two great new songs that I really like and want to share with you, I did have more songs prepared, but still figuring out logistics etc. Hopefully, I will be able to post the other songs I found next week.

For now I have these two awesome songs that I’m really loving at the moment and want to share with you;

1) Joe Jury – Love Somebody

I love the sound of this song, its perfect for the summer time, I spoke to Joe directly, and he even said himself its a “song for the sunshine”, and I agree, it’s a happy song that puts you in a good mood every time you listen to it. The song is a very modern sound, and as well as Joe Jury’s amazing voice, I love the production of the song; towards the ending of ‘Love Somebody’ it has what I believe to be jazz style trumpet playing, I’m not sure if that’s the actual instrument used, but I love that sound whatever it is, as it adds a classic and soulful touch to an upbeat and modern song. I would definitely recommend giving it a listen. I was kindly sent the link and glad I have now found a great new artist to listen to.

2) Glass Peaks – I’m Okay

I was kindly sent this song, and thought it sounded good. I love indie music, and this song has a very indie yet a disco vibe to it. The sound is quite upbeat yet has a calm before the storm sound, in the sense of it having a great build up to the intense chorus towards the end. The instrument composition against the song is awesome, it’s what stood out for me.   I would certainly recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t already, especially if you love indie style music, its a great song to listen to, I enjoy listening to it.

These are the two of many songs I’m listening to at the moment, I hope you enjoy them as much as me. Let me know which one you liked the most.

Speak soon,

Sophia x
